Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which guides are useful and which need work — page views, rough location (country/city level), device type, referring site, and how people move through the site. This sets a small number of first- and third-party cookies in your browser, generally expiring within a couple of years unless cleared sooner, and the data is processed by Google as our analytics provider under their own privacy terms.
Cookie consent for European visitors
If your browser's timezone looks European, analytics cookies stay switched off by default until you actively accept the banner shown on your first visit — you can accept or decline, and your choice is remembered so you won't be asked again. This is a best-effort approach: we detect "European" using your device's timezone setting, not precise location, so it isn't perfect in either direction (a European visitor travelling abroad, or someone using a European timezone while physically elsewhere, may see it handled differently than expected). Visitors elsewhere have analytics enabled by default, consistent with typical practice outside regions that require prior consent.
Search
The search box on this site runs entirely in your browser — it doesn't send your search terms anywhere, log queries, or call any external service. It works by matching against a small index of page titles and summaries loaded with the page itself.
Affiliate links
Awesome Prague does not currently use any affiliate links, sponsored links, or paid partnerships anywhere on the site. If that changes in future — for example, once the site has meaningful traffic — this section will be updated with the full details of any partner, clearly disclosed, before any such link goes live.
What we don't do
We don't sell visitor data to anyone. We don't require an account, an email address, or any personal details just to read a guide. We don't use tracking pixels from social networks, and any advertising or affiliate links we run in future (search or display ads, referral partnerships) will be disclosed here when they go live.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies at any time in your browser settings, or use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts — the site works exactly the same either way, you just won't show up in our analytics.
Data requests
If you'd like to know what analytics data we hold that could relate to you, or want to ask us to request its deletion from Google Analytics, get in touch and we'll help as best we can — in practice, GA4 data is aggregated in a way that makes it very difficult to tie back to a specific individual, but we'll always take the request seriously.
Changes to this page
If what we collect, link to, or monetise changes materially, we'll update this page rather than quietly changing behaviour — there's no separate mailing list or notification system, so this page is the source of truth.
